This project supports rural livelihoods through cashew plantations, livestock farming, and meat processing in Senanga and Mongu. It combines agricultural enterprise with community mobilisation, civic training, and support for women and youth in leadership.

Cashew and Livestock Development Programme – Mongu & Senanga Districts

Site A: Mongu – Sefula Area (Yeta Ward)

Purpose: Coordinate Mongu district development projects.

Social Enterprise Activities:

  • Goat and pig rearing
  • Feedlots and village chickens
  • Cashew plantation
  • Fish farming
  • Meat processing plant
  • Out-grower scheme

Site B: Senanga – Wanyau Ward

Purpose: Coordinate Senanga district project activities.

Social Enterprise Activities:

  • Cashew plantation
  • Cashew processing plant
  • Out-grower scheme

Key Activities (ActionAid Funded)

  • Community and stakeholder engagement meetings.
  • Inclusive forums in 4 wards.
  • Train 20 local government officials.
  • Create 4 youth- and women-led advocacy groups.
  • Mentorship program for young leaders.
  • Road shows with musicians and celebrities.
  • Live radio roundtable programs.
  • Educational website and materials.
  • Train 20 community leaders on advocacy.
  • Strengthen CSO networks via NGO forum.
  • Review meetings and final evaluation.
